Awesome New Artist Profile

After a 3 hour drive to Columbus Ohio to see the band COLD. I came across a few really cool new bands. Among these bands was a group called HALO EFFECT.  I had never heard the band play so i was a little skechy about them at first. After listening to them play i realized they could really rock. After a few minutes of watching this band i noticed one of the guitarists wasn't doing much moving only a lot of playing. When i go to concerts i like to see a lot of band and audience participation. I was just about to leave when the lead singer went over to the guitarist gave him a signal and then he just wailed on the guitar, he really got into the music and the audience just loved it and thats the way i like it. They really rocked the house so for this reason I am promoting them on this sight. To find out more info or check out their tour schedule go to www.myspace.com/haloeffect01 and don't forget to add them as a friend on myspace. In the meantime i have posted a profile on them.

To hear some of the music log on to their myspace page. if you like it you let them know. This band really kicks ass so make sure to try and make one of their many concerts they have posted on their my space page. Don't forget to send your requests to hyperadio18716@yahoo.com so we can hear more from them. Keep checking for any updated posts about them or for them.

Halo Effect Artist Profile

In 2003 a school talent show project brought three friends; guitar player Derek Bevis, bassist Jarid Andrews and percussionist Tim Hamilton, together to form the rock band, “Open Minded”. What started with one cover song turned into a year of playing private parties, prom and anywhere else people were actually willing to listen. The group was having a good time and decided to take this to the next level, trying something a little heavier and more serious. Tagging themselves “Based on Feelings”, the group underwent several transformations as band members were added and others deleted over three years of performing cover songs and a few pieced together originals all over the central Ohio area, often times opening for brother band, “Lucidity”, a cover band which consisted of Tim’s two siblings and three friends including a bass player, drummer Hansel Henry and lead guitarist Roger Beck. As Based of Feelings pieced together some original songs, it became clear that singing behind instruments was not pulling in the audience. Tim became the front man, the group adopted the moniker, “Halo Effect” and with a positive response following opening for “Gone Until Tomorrow” at Columbus’s “The Alrosa Villa”, the lot brought Dax Clapsaddle in to play bass. Although the band was playing nearly every weekend and opening for national acts like “Ra”, “Bobaflex”, “Smile Empty Soul”, “The Exies”, “In This Moment”, “Autovein” and “Soil”, originals including their first popular song, “Long Sleeves and Make Up” progressed slowly and the band struggled to focus. As ’07 came to a close, Derek married and decided to move on to another project while Jarid, who had been on hiatus, returned to the group playing guitar. Halo Effect picked up Hansel Henry on sticks and Roger Beck on lead guitar and quickly took off with the new members forming a cohesive unit. With songs like “The Pulse”  “Through the Lens” and "Just Bring It", H.E. was forming fast and furious a loyal following which they dubbed “The H.E. Nation”. Halo Effect improved and in 2008 won a huge Battle of the Bands hosted at Whiskey Dicks in Columbus, Ohio, which rewarded them substantial recording time and encouraged them to put out their self titled first CD, “Halo Effect”. As the troop gains momentum, they played a mini tour to close out the year which had stops in Nashville, Rochester, Buffalo, Cleveland, St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Chicago. They have also had the opportunity to open for a couple more national acts, which so far this year has been "COLD" "The Killer And The Star" and "The Drama Club". Halo Effect, now consisting of lead vocalist Tim, Rog John and Jarid on guitar, and Hansel on drums, invites you to come out and “feel the effect!"
