After a 3 hour drive to Columbus Ohio to see the band COLD. I came across a few really cool new bands. Among these bands was a group called 7TH CYCLE.  I had only heard them one other time at a TRAPT concert but wasn't close enough to hear them play, after listening to them play i realized they can be just as big as any other popular band They really rocked the house so for this reason I am promoting them on this sight. ARTIST PROFILE

7th Cycle Biography

7th Cycle is a Logan, OH quintet that conjures the emotive, honest influences that mark the best and longest-lasting bands.  The band is a musical disseminator of rock music that inspires both lighters-in-the-air tributes and bone-crunching, dark matter kinetics - in other words, it’s good music.

Influenced by both hard rock and early nineties rock bands, 7th Cycle maintain a different viewpoint from many of their contemporaries, having witnessed firsthand the struggles that can affect the human spirit.  “My job influenced the lyrics that I write because I have seen people in their greatest and in their worst moments,” says vocalist Dustin Grove, who once worked as a detective.  “I have seen how souls can be touched and how souls can be crushed.”

After a fateful series of encounters involving, among other things, in-laws, a Sheriff’s office, and a front porch Dustin Grove (vocals), Jeremy Dye (guitar), Mitch Kirkpatrick (guitar and vocals), Jason Cremeans (bass), and Kris James (drums and vocals) came together as the musical force that is 7th Cycle.  Along the way, the band has had its share of horror stories.  Dustin recounts one such gig: “The very first time we played at this venue, the Alrosa, a huge fight broke out.  Our roadie got a board broken over his head and mace was sprayed by the bar workers.  When the fight got to the door, it opened and wind spread the mace throughout the venue.  I was singing and started coughing.  Jeremy went to the bathroom at the side of the stage and puked in the toilet while still playing the song.  Needless to say, we ended the night after that song because no one could see or breathe.”

7th Cycle has shared the stage with many national acts including Hurt, AFI, Hinder, Cold, Trapt and Seether.  7th Cycle began to create their own impression on the industry; winning the Emergenza Festival in Ohio and scoring the second highest vote count in the nationwide contest. The band went on to secure a coveted spot on the Cleveland leg of the Warped Tour and secured placement for two of their songs in the independent films, Enlightenment and Reckless Operation.  Buoyed by their momentum, the band began recording their debut album, “My Lies Within”, at Track Six Studio (Hed PE, Driver’s Side Impact).  With Producer Don Debiase (Forever in Terror, Beneath the Sky) Released in January of 2008, it quickly became a regional favorite, selling several thousand copies in its first few months of release and leading to the filming of the band’s first video, for the song, “Turn Away”.

The band has created a sound hard enough to appeal to fans today’s crop of rock and metal acts and retains enough melodic flow and lyrical honesty to capture the fantasies of women everywhere.  With their star beginning to rise, 7th Cycle proves that they are the band that can make you fall in love with rock music again.
